Fusion Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Fusion) is a clinical stage radiopharmaceutical company developing Targeted Alpha-Particle Therapeutics for the treatment of cancer. Fusion is seeking outstanding applicants for a Post-Doctoral Fellow Immunology to support new initiatives in the area of immuno-oncology where it relates to radiopharmaceutical development. 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop pre-clinical research tools to enable analysis and characterization of immune responses during radiopharmaceutical therapy using murine models of cancer
  • Produce high quality and well documented data with strong attention to detail
  • Contribute to internal project teams through the setting and achieving scientific goals, communication of results, and solving multifaceted scientific challenges
  • Other duties as required

Required Education/Experience:

  • Ph. D. (Immunology or related field)
  • Expertise with development and technical validation of in vitro and ex vivo assays to phenotype immune responses in response to therapeutic treatment
  • Experience with development and validation of in vivo disease models in rodents; experience with murine models of immuno-oncological therapy (e.g. Checkpoint inhibition) is an asset
  • Experience with general biochemical (e.g., protein quantification, ELISA, SDS-PAGE and immunoblotting, UV/VIS spectroscopy) and cell biological methods (e.g. multi-parameter flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence)

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Ability to adapt to, perform, and develop unfamiliar methods in a rapidly evolving research environment
  • Verbal and written proficiency in English
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team and communicate with colleagues at all levels
  • Experience with the safe handling of radioactive and potentially biohazardous materials

Eligibility criteria:

This position is co-funded under the NRC IRAP Youth Employment Program, so certain eligibility criteria must be met:

  • Must be between 15 30 years of age (inclusive)
  • A Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada
  • Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial legislation and regulations
  • A first-time participant in a Youth Employment Strategy work experience program targeted at post-secondary graduates
