Fusion Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: FUSN) is a clinical-stage oncology company focused on developing next-generation radiopharmaceuticals as precision medicines to treat a broad range of cancers. Employing its platform technology, including proprietary Fast-Clear linker, Fusion connects alpha particle emitting isotopes to antibodies and other targeting molecules in order to selectively deliver the payloads to tumors. Fusion's lead program, FPI-1434, is currently in a Phase 1 clinical trial. The Company is growing a pipeline of precision oncology therapies in development, and recently announced a collaboration agreement with AstraZeneca. Following Fusion's June 2020 IPO, the Company has cash to fund operations into 2023.

Summary:

This role will report directly to the Assistant Controller and partner directly with all members of the finance team, as well as cross-functional colleagues. This role is a "hands-on" position with direct responsibility for Fusion's Canadian financial operations, including but not limited to daily accounting, procurement, accounts payable leadership, and Canadian tax operations, month and quarter-end closes, as well as being a key contributor to the implementation of projects and systems upgrades.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Accounts Payable function.
  • Develop and maintain models while working with Manufacturing and R&D teams to properly record prepaids and accruals.
  • Prepare and review monthly and quarterly closing entries and account reconciliations.
  • Maintain relationships with and assist third party experts in tax compliance, including provisions, returns, credit reporting, and grants.
  • Responsible for Fixed Assets, including capitalization and depreciation as well as tracking and recording projects costs.
  • Assist in preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, management reports, and other ad-hoc investor reporting requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with and documentation of certain internal controls.
  • Assist with external audit requests.
  • Support the ERP system including new or ongoing projects.
  • Provide accounting support for special projects and ad-hoc reporting and analysis, as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting with current CPA, or equivalent, license desired.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience, including but not limited to public accounting and biotechnology/pharmaceuticals industry experience.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and public company reporting process.
  • High professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information and materials.
  • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong team player that has a customer service approach and is solutions oriented.
  • Ability to travel to Boston at least quarterly.
